- Cooks prepare food, which is healthy and abundant.
- We make sure that there is drinkable water, plus ample water for washing.
- A 'dining room' is created for every meal.
- Cooks handle all supply and logistical details.
- Two campfires are lighted each night, one for cooking, one for gathering and warmth on cool nights.
- To sleep, comfortable matresses and tents are provided for everybody.
- Traveling distance is about 200km per day.
- Vehicles, each with 3 guests operate as a team, stopping whenever there is an attraction.
- Equipment used, Toyota Landcruisers, able to go through the rocky tracks of the Air and sandy dunes of Tenere.
Our Exclusive Eclipse camp directly between Bilma and Dirkou - on the centerline:
- Our overland services have total autonomy for our combination of small groups, which all meet together on eclipse day. We are equipped with heavy supply means (6x6 all terrain trucks, tankers, refrigerated trucks) and with electrical power generators.
- For sleeping: tented accommodations with comfortable matresses
- Shower and WC facilities
- Electric power supply equipment
- Refrigeration truck with 10cubic meters of 200 liters cold drinking water
Registration and Payment dates:
- Registration is confirmed upon receipt of completed and signed registration document by mail or faximilie and deposit of $400.00 per person. No registrations shall be confirmed, nor monies accepted without receipt of completed registration document.
- Initial deposit is fully refundable for any reason until July 1, 2005.
- Second payment of $800.00 per person is due July 15, 2005.
- Cancellations from July 1 to July 31, 2005 shall be assessed a $400 per person cancellation fee.
- Final payment in full is due December 15, 2005.
- Cancellations August 1 - December 1 are subject to a 50% cancellation penalty.
- All cancellations after December 1 are subject to 100% cancellation penalty and no deposits available for refund.
- Clients are required to purchase travel and trip cancellation insurance to cover non-refundable deposits for covered causes of cancellation. Pre-existing conditions are waived if insurance is purchased within 21 days of initial trip deposit.
- Cancellations must be submitted in writing to Astronomical Tours at 149 NW OO Highway, Warrensburg, MO 64093. Date of notice of cancellation shall be assessed based upon postmark date of letter of cancellation and not subject to negotiation.
Flights to begin tours (not included in tour price above):
- Tours are organized around charter flights from Paris (CDG) to Agadez. The flight operates Saturday only. The 7-day tour and the 14-day tours use charter flights round trip. The 10 & 12 day programs fly into Naimey, Niger - and out of Agadez on the charter flight April 1st. Special airfare packages are available for clients arriving into (NIM) Naimey and out of CDG, Paris.
